Common questions

My child has the trig formulae from class but can't apply them. Why?
A group class, especially one geared to the SPM syllabus, often teaches the pieces without the 0606 assembly: which side to start an identity proof from, how to reduce an equation to one ratio, how to sweep the quadrants so no solution is missed. Once a student practises that assembly one-to-one with feedback, the formulae they already know start earning Cambridge marks. It's a method gap, not a knowledge gap.
Is trig a good topic to target before the exam?
Yes, it's high value: trig carries the second-most 0606 marks and its difficulty is the trainable, routine kind. A student who drills the standard question types with a specialist correcting the method usually improves within a few sessions, which makes it an efficient focus close to an exam, and a better fit for one-to-one than a general group class.
