Kota Kinabalu Tutor Jobs: Teach 0606 from Home
This page is for tutors based in or near Kota Kinabalu. The work is fully online, so being local is not a requirement, but we like knowing the schools and the school calendar our students in Sabah live by.
Teaching 0606 from Kota Kinabalu
In Kota Kinabalu, Kinabalu International School has run an IGCSE stream for Sabah's professional and expat families for many years. Add the state's private-stream students and homeschoolers sitting 0606 as private candidates, and a KK-based tutor finds a varied mix of learners to teach.
Online teaching means a tutor in Kota Kinabalu can teach a student in another state the same evening. We match by fit, so applicants from Sabah are welcome for students anywhere in Malaysia.
Kota Kinabalu is one of 3 Sabah locations we serve, alongside Sandakan and Tawau.
The work
Your job is the teaching. Each student meets you in a paid 1-hour trial class first, then keeps you as their weekly tutor, so progress compounds instead of resetting with a new face.
Who we are looking for
School teachers in Kota Kinabalu who want a few extra evening students, experienced private tutors who want steadier 0606 work, and graduates with strong 0606 results who can explain it clearly have all made good applications.
- Willingness to be observed teaching by our founder and to teach our shared, exam-focused method.
- A stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a way to write working live (a tablet with stylus or a graphics tablet).
The full requirements are on the role page.
Pay and roles
From RM80/hr, subject to experience and availability. Each new student's 1-hour trial class is paid at your normal rate. The role is freelance and part-time: you teach the weekly hours you offer. Read the full part-time role.
