Johor Bahru Tutor Jobs: Teach 0606 from Home
This page is for tutors based in or near Johor Bahru. The work is fully online, so being local is not a requirement, but we like knowing the schools and the school calendar our students in Johor live by.
Teaching 0606 from Johor Bahru
Johor Bahru's international-school scene has grown fast, with Austin Heights and Crescendo-HELP on the eastern side and the Iskandar Puteri schools nearby. JB's pool of 0606-fluent tutors is smaller than the Klang Valley's, so a JB-based specialist adds real capacity.
Many of the families we hear from in the south have children in international or private schools, plus some homeschoolers entering 0606 as private candidates. Tutors who understand both routes are especially useful.
Johor Bahru is one of 6 Johor locations we serve, alongside Batu Pahat, Iskandar Puteri, Kluang, Muar and Segamat. Our Johor Bahru page names Marlborough College Malaysia, Sunway International School Iskandar and Austin Heights Private & International School among the schools local families attend.
The work
Each class is 1.5 hours. Much of it is spent on the student's own working: spotting the line where a method mark slipped away, then rebuilding it the way the mark scheme expects.
Who we are looking for
We look for tutors who can explain why a step earns a mark, not just get the right answer. Where you teach in Johor today matters less than how you teach.
- Willingness to be observed teaching by our founder and to teach our shared, exam-focused method.
- A stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a way to write working live (a tablet with stylus or a graphics tablet).
The full requirements are on the role page.
Pay and roles
From RM80/hr, subject to experience and availability. Each new student's 1-hour trial class is paid at your normal rate. The role is freelance and part-time: you teach the weekly hours you offer. Read the full part-time role.
